About Me

About Me pictureI have hot flashes and my own miter saw.

I couldn’t live without books and red wine.

I suffer from an obsession with design that is in direct conflict with my Scottish frugality.

I love baking, thrifting and finding new uses for old things in my home.

I wear bifocals, blue jeans and flat shoes.

I work in advertising and spend more time with my computer each day than I should.

I adore 3 handsome, twenty-something sons and a long-haired, green-eyed tabby.

Twenty-eight years later, I am still besotted by my musical husband who makes me laugh, cooks well and frequently (and, yes, he also does the dishes). It is entirely his fault I need to get back to the gym.

We love exploring the world together but we have an unfortunate, slightly promiscuous predilection for wanting to take up permanent residence nearly everywhere we go, which is kinda how we ended up with a condo in Siesta Key, which in turn kinda led me to blogging.  Now that we have the website up, the blog has morphed.  It’s become a creative outlet  where I can find ideas and inspiration for enjoying  all the little (and not so little)  pleasures of life, namely home, family, food and travel plus assorted other fun stuff.  These are topics I’m passionate about and want to explore from the my own particular perspective of someone in the second half of life who wants to make the most of every second and every day.

I hope you’ll stop by once in a while, have a cup of coffee or tea, and join me in exploring ideas and inspirations for living well and enjoying life to the fullest at any age.

And, I’m sorry, but I can’t leave without mentioning that we do  look forward to sharing our vacation paradise with others who will appreciate this special place. To find out more and to book your vacation dates, please visit  http://vacationrentalsiestakey.com.

  1. I live in Winter Haven near Legoland. It is paradise and the beaches are beautiful. Never understood the fascination with Ohio or Michigan which in the winter is a disaster.

    • earning a living and/or family ties may have something to do with it wintering in the north! But sure is nice to have somewhere as gorgeous as Florida to escape a little while from the grey and yucky wet stuff.
