Easter Decorating

Are you celebrating Easter but at a loss how to make your decor and dinner table obviously Easter-y?

Pinterest to the rescue with some creative ideas!

If there are kiddies at your table, a plate of Easter cupcakes would be a fun way to bring Easter into your home (though I tend to think the cupcakes would look better than they’d actually taste, unless you are laid back enough to let the kids do the decorating of the cupcakes– in which case they’d look about as good as they’d taste). 🙂

Coconut is the magic ingredient from the decor point-of view. It makes great bunny fur and, mixed with green food colouring, it also makes wonderful grass (I once made a baseball diamond birthday cake so I know from whence I speak!).

If you prefer to decorate your table with objects rather than styling your food, coloured Easter eggs on unused candlesticks or in a pretty pot with spring flowers are easy ideas to execute. Embrace your inner Ukranian and dye your own eggs or take the easy way out and just buy pretty Easter eggs.  What’s wonderful about this idea is it is a multi-tasker:  you could kill two birds with one stone, if your decorations are edible.  Dessert and decoration in one!

Personally, my own style tends to be a little more understated and natural so I’m going to go with something along the lines of either of the two arrangements below.

If a little less crayola colour is your idea of perfection, as it is mine, one final idea that adds a little touch of spring to the decor and is easy to execute (which counts highly in my books, especially if I’m busy cleaning and cooking for a crowd.)

How did we ever survive the holidays in the days of yore before Pinterest?
